The Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Hon. Hammed Idowu D Tijani has begun an environmental and cleaning exercise in the LCDA tagged “Operation: Ojokoro Zero Tolerance for Refuse”. The exercise is targeted at ensuring a cleaner, healthier and refuse free environment in the LCDA.
On Tuesday 8th August, the compactor, provided by the council for evacuation of refuse, visited Popoola, Ibrahim Street, Olukayode Street, Afuape Street (Old Anjuwon), Sule Akanni, Yomi Are Street and its environs in Ward A, Fagba area where huge refuse were carted away from streets, homes, business spots among others.
Hon. Adeniji Segun Adekunle, councilor for Ward A who led the team of the environmental officers of the council and others to the streets and crannies of Fagba to cart away all dumped refuse told newsmen that, “the programme is in line with Lagos State Government’s directive in maintaining a cleaner and healthier living in the state and the Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA is following suit with the exercise
