IDERA Empowers 300 Indigent Women
Not fewer than three hundred indigent women has benefitted from IDERA De foundation’s vocational/empowerment programme.
The Non Governmental Organisation, which belongs to politician and enterprenurer, Engr. Fatai Owolabi Kehinde, it was gathered, has in the last five years trained young ladies and aged women to be financially independent.
He contested for the Lagos State House Assembly Alimosho Constituency 02 seat under the Peoples Democratic party in 2015 general election.
According to the president of the NGO, ” I was not born with a sliver spoon and growing up for me was not easy but today, i thank God for what he has been doing in my life. With this in mind, it is mandatory for me to give back to the society to show appreciation to God.”
“IDERA De Foundation has empowered over a thousand indigent citizens (women)  since inception and we will continue to do more,” he pledged.
When asked if he gets monetary support from the government or any other bodies to run the NGO, he said,” I have never solicited financial help from government nor any other agencies to get these people trained, as well as support them with little financial grants. It has been from my purse. I am giving back to the society. So to me, there is no need writing government or other organizations for financial assistance.”
According to a beneficiary, Mrs blessing Adams,” I pray to God to continue to bless this man for this laudable programme to help the people. He didn’t collect a dime for the training and at the end of it, he still uses his personal money to buy materials and instruments needed to start our own business.”
