LEADING Yoruba language actor and filmmaker, Odunlade Adekola, has corrected the notion that his career took a rise about the time he joined the film industry.
“Let me correct this impression that I came into the industry when everywhere was ‘loaded’. I joined the industry in 1996 that’s about 22 years ago. The movie industry wasn’t as big as this at the time. So, I didn’t run into theatre, I’ve been there for quite a while but I still give glory to Almighty God and you can’t achieve anything without the power of God.”
Adekola who was speaking shortly after picking the Best Actor in a Comedy Movie diadem at the AMVCA, said the award speaks a lot to his career. “It’s not a very easy task to make people laugh, and also have a great time. Sincerely, I feel very good.”
