The immediate past Cheif of Staff to ex-Gov Abdul Fattah Ahmad, Babatunde Wahab; and former Secretary to the State Government in the same administration, Isiaka Gold are among names of prominent politicians in Kwara State banned from traveling but allegedly trying to procure fake police document to run out of the country, thegazellenews.com can exclusively revealed.
The anti-graft agency has thus presented the list containing their names and others to the Immigration Service to prevent them from running out of the country.
Thegazellenews.com learnt exclusively further that the list also include: current General Manager of Radio Kwara, Adebowale Adedeji Abdulateef; the former Senior Special Assistant to Ahmad on Media, Dr Muyideen Akorede; and the Accountant General, Benjamin Sehinde Fatigun; among others.
The letter containing the names which was forwarded to the Kwara Zonal Head of the Nigerian Immigration Service, was dated 17 July, 2019 and signed by Isyaku Sharu, Zonal Head of EFCC in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
Thegazellenews.com can also revealed that there are 33 names on the list and the EFCC alleged in its letter that, “information at the disposal of the commission revealed that the individuals whose names appeared on the list are under investigation but are trying to procure fake police report to acquire new international passports to enable them run out of the country”.
The commission urged the head of the Immigration Services to use his good offices to ensure that the individuals do not escape investigation by placing them under strict surveillance.
Thegazellenews.com also learnt that the individuals have had their international passports seized by the commission.
