In continuation of his commitment to fulfil his promise to empower the youths, women, and support indigent and struggling families within Agege Local Government Area, the Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Kolawole Egunjobi, on Friday, empowered 100 traders and artisans, resident in Agege with the sum of N100,000 each.

In past months, 400 persons had benefitted from the scheme. It is worthy to note that the financial empowerment has no string attached.

The ceremony held on Thursday, 5 September, 2019 inside the council secretariat complex had in attendance beneficiaries, residents of the community from all walks of life.

While advising the beneficiaries to be prudent, resourceful and resilient in making judicious use of the money, the council boss urged those who have not benefitted from the scheme to be hopeful as his commitment to the cause is unwavering, saying the empowerment programme would go round youths, women and artisans in the local government.

In a related development, the council chief presented an official vehicle to Alhaji Tunde Azeez (Tunde Disco), the All Progressives Congress Chairman in the local government.

In his remark on receipt of the car, Alhaji Azeez expressed gratitude to the chairman for the gift.

He poured encomium on Egunjobi saying he has kept all his election campaign promises.

Prominent people present at the occasion include: the entire councilors representing the seven wards in the council led by the Leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Muyideen Anigbajumo, Hon. Gbenga Abiola (SLG), Supervisory Councillors, Management Team led by the Council Treasurer, APC executives led by Hon. Mutiu Agbede; Alhaja Aminat Abdulsalam led the women wing of the party, Alhaji Ayo Adesiyan led the Community Development Council and members of Agege local govt area.
