The Police in Kaduna State said a 13-year-old boy has been rescued from his kidnapper and the latter arrested.
Yakubu Sabo, deputy superintendent and spokesman for the command, informed journalists of the arrest.
Acting on a tip off, the police said the victim was rescued on Oct. 29 at about 8:30 p.m.
The suspect, Sabo said, the kidnap was foiled on the suspect’s way to deliver the victim to members of his gang. He named the suspect as one Mustapha Ibrahim of Daura Road, Rigasa, Kaduna.
He explained that the suspect subsequently led the operatives to rescue two other victims, Ismaila Hussaini and Hussaini Umar, both residing at Ado-Gwaram area of Rigasa Kaduna.
“The suspect is helping police investigation, the Command is currently on the trail of other gang members for possible arrest and prosecution.
In a related development, Sabo said a raid of bandits’ camps at Maguzawa and Gurguzu Forests yielded the rescue of another set of kidnapped victims on Oct. 31.
He said a fierce gun duel took place between operatives and the bandits, with some of the criminals escaping with bullet wounds
The rescued victims are Sada Abdullahi, Maimuna Umar Sharif, Ismail Umar Sharif, Aisha Umar Sharif and Husaini Umar Sharif, all adult of Nariya village, Chukun LGA.
