Popular Yoruba Actor, Kanran, In N8m Scam; Faces Court Action Over Bad Deal With ACN

Indeed these are not the best of times for popular Yoruba actor, Segun Remi, known in Yoruba film circle as Chief Kanran.
Thegazellenews.com learnt exclusively that the popular actor and some of his colleagues are now running from pillar to post to repay a whopping N8 million the actor allegedly collected to produce a film on the achievements of the present administration in the state.
Our source stated that Chief Kanran allegedly collected the money from the leadership of the ruling party in the state, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to produce a film showcasing the achievements of the party in the state.
Thegazellenews.com learnt that after collecting the money, the actor did not produce any film but rather squandered the money on frivolities. The ACN leadership has thus insisted that he returned the money or face legal action.
Already, leaders of the Association of Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) such as Jide Kosoko and Toyin Afolayan known as Lola Idije have swung into action pleading with the ACN leadership to exercise restrain assuring that the money will be refunded.
However, thegazellenews.com investigation revealed that the leadership of the party might have run out of patience with Chief Kanran and has thus instructed a popular lawyer also a politician to commence legal proceedings against the actor.
