Lagos Sacks 10 Staff Over Corruption

For indulging in misconducts bothering on corruption and other acts of indiscipline, the Lagos State Government Wednesday, said it has sacked 10 members of its staff, even as the state government suspended12 of its staff too for various acts of indiscipline.

The Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola on Central BusinessDistricts (CBD), CBD, Mrs. Derin Disu who disclosed this at a press briefing,  said the staff were attached to the Central Business Districts.

According to her their dismissal was to ensure discipline and strict adherence with the rules governing the Agency, pointing out that the affected staff compromised the public image of government through their actions.

Disu explained that the agency also suspend 12 members of its staff for various acts of indiscipline so as to serve as deterrent to others.

She said a 15-day residential training programme was organised at the Sea School, Apapa for the CBD enforcement unit as part of state government efforts in re-orientating the enforcement staff and improving their knowledge of traffic management and enforcement laws.

Disu said the agency is currently involved in the development of infrastructure in the Central Business District, listing some ongoing projects to include Ebute-Ero Police Station, installation of pedestrian guard rails along outer Marina Road, fabrication of concrete pedestrian guard rails along Carter Bridge as well as Beautification of Tinubu Triangle.
