Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed shock at the news of the demise of a former Commissioner for Information in the state, Chief Soniran Sowemimo, who passed away at the age of 71.
Amosun said he was saddened by the news of the exit of the veteran journalist, especially coming at a time when his wealth of experience was mostly needed, not just in the pen profession but also the socio-economic advancement of Ogun State.
In a press release by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs Funmi Wakama, Amosun described the former Chief Press Secretary to several governors in Ogun as a revered media practitioner, community man par excellence and patriotic citizen, who devoted his life to the service of the state and humanity in general.The Governor commiserated with the family of the deceased, the people of Ogun State and media community in Nigeria on the exit of the renowned journalist.
“Chief Sowemimo has certainly left his footprints on the sands of time,” the Governor said while praying to the almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest.
