A book on the memorization of the Holy Quran, Merits and Methods will be presented to the Nigerian public in Lokoja, Kogi State, North Central Nigeria on Saturday 23rd November, 2013.
The 97 page book written by Al–Hafiz Yunus Omotayo, a tutor at the Al- Azhar International College, Lokoja, according to the foreword written by Dr Saeed Timehin, is arguably the first, written in English Language by a scholar from the south western geo-political zone of Nigeria, containing several information that are absent in the works of his predecessors, Arabs and non–Arabs alike.
In his own submission, Justice Sulaiman Olorunfemi, former Grand Khadi of the Kogi State Shariah Court of Appeal, memorization of the Holy Quran is one of the greatest assignments a Muslim can render in the service of Allah.
The book is divided into six chapters covering the essence of memorizing the Holy Quran, easy recitation of Quran at all times, the people
memorizing it called the Huffaz, human memory and Tahfiz-ul-Quran, the wings of Tahfiz-ul-Quran, the essential pillars of Tahfiz-ul-Quran, the art of Tahfiz-ul-Quran, summary and conclusion.
