O’Meal Vendors, Ondo Indigenes, Polythene Dealers Endorse Aregbesola For Second Term

The second term bid of the Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, received another big boost at the weekend as the O’Meal Vendors, Oranmiyan Sunshine Movement (OSM), who are association of indegines of Ondo residents in Osun and the Polythene Dealers Association of Nigeria (Osun Chapter) came all out to endorse his continuation in office.

The three groups hinged their adoption of Aregbesola on the huge turn around of the state in the last four years.

Speaking on behalf of the OSM, Senator Ajayi Borofice, the Ondo indegines resident in Osun expressed appreciation at the good work of the governor saying they have benefitted immensely from his administration.

Senator Borofice observed that Osun had undergone tremendous change since the coming of Aregbesola to power.

The lawmaker said Osun will be an impossible ground for the kind of shenanigans witnessed in Ekiti State on June 21.

“Under Governor Aregbesola, the State of Osun has witnessed significant positive changes in all ramifications.

“Aregbesola is a man of God; he is a politician with conscience and governs with fear of God.

“We in the All Progressives Congress (APC) have strong belief that what happened in Ekiti will not happen in Osun as the two states are different in political character and texture,” Senator Borofice said.

In his remark, the Governor said the teeming population of the groups is an open demonstration of support for his government.

He affirmed his government’s commitment to continuing to implement programmes that will bring progress, growth and development to the state.

He described as unconstitutional and an invitation to chaos any act of intimidation of the citizens of the state by security personnel.

He assured the people of Osun not to entertain any fear about security agencies coming to Osun as their presence are meant to provide security and prevent any act of violence before, during and after the election.

He continued: “You have all come out to support us. This is a huge encouragement for this government to continue to serve the people.

“I want to urge you all to close rank and work as a team. Do not give or sell your voter’s card.

“Your card is your power to exercise your civic right, your right to choose the best candidate; an instrument to shape your future.

“Those of you who have not collected your voter’s cards, go to any Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office close to you and collect them.

“Do not fear. Do not be intimidated by soldiers and police. They are meant to protect you and make sure the election is free and fair.”
