The embattled Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, will today brave the simmering circumstances on his path to resuming office after he got the all-clear from Sports Minister Tammy Danagogo at the weekend.
Maigari had visited Danagogo on Friday for what the former called “solidarity visit” after FIFA wrote a letter last week to the NFF Secretariat directing that Maigari be reinstated ahead of the NFF Congress billed for August 26 in Abuja.
National Mirror spoke to some staffers of the NFF who sought anonymity but expressed delight at the president’s return, amidst a groundswell of the Mike Umeh led-faction that could scuttle the resumption.
“The returned of Maigari will bring nothing but more crisis federation” the staff said yesterday, hinting that majority of the staffers had settled for the new order that is expected to usher in a new president on August 26.
At the time of filing this report, however, Maigari could not be reached but indications suggested that he is ready to assume duties as Nigeria football seeks to shake off the crisis that has since threatened to ground administration at the Football House.
