Ado Ekiti residents woke up in the morning of Friday, 26th September, 2014 to pandemonium and chaos as hoodlums suspected to be supporters of Ekiti State Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose stormed the streets protesting the murder of Omolafe Aderiye.
Omolafe was murdered on the night of Thursday, 25th September, 2014 by unknown gunmen.
He was the immediate past chairman of the state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and a staunch supporter of Fayose.
The hoodlums, allegedly wearing t-shirts of the Governor-elect, stormed the streets destroying properties especially those belonging to sympathisers and supporters of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
As at the time of writing this report, the campaign office of Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ado Ekiti has been set ablaze by the rampaging hoodlums while some supporters of the Governor have been physically assaulted.
The police are battling to contain the chaos as the streets of Ado Ekiti have been deserted.
