The wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose has charged Muslim women to embrace peace and religious tolerance towards achieving a harmonious relationship in the state.
Mrs. Fayose who gave the charge during a thanksgiving service for the new executive members of the state chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), urged the women to always explore the option of dialogue in resolving issues.
The Governor’s wife who spoke through the Director of Social Mobilization in her office, Mrs. Yemisi Arogundade noted that the role of women in nation building cannot be over emphasized, stressing that the place of women in the society should not be looked down on.
Reiterating the commitment of Fayose administration to the general wellbeing of the people, she assured that all issues concerning women would be given top priority, adding that she was ready to work with them in making life more meaningful for the less privileged, particularly women.
Mrs. Fayose expressed appreciation to them for their support for her husband before, during and after the election, urging them to always pray for the success of the administration in order to enable it deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
In her remarks, the state Amirah, Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Alhaja Habibat Adubiaro, explained that the organization has a vision of having a world where women are thoroughly empowered to be role models in the society.
Alhaja Adubiaro pledged the support of the association for the success of the administration.
