Scores of graduate interns of the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) of the federal government’s Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, (SURE P) have been assured of being self employed after the scheme.
The Director of the GIS, Mr Peter Pasca disclosed this at a workshop held at Naamo Hall, permanent site of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi recently.
Pasca who was represented at the training by Mr. Adola Edward said the federal government was poised to creating employment opportunity for the teeming youths.
According to him, the internship training would afford the graduates the opportunity to be self-reliant after the programme and also boost their employability skills in the labour market.
While highlighting the numerous advantages accrued to SURE P graduates, the director of the scheme urged the beneficiaries to shun cultism and any acts calpable of truncating their future and image.
He enjoined the graduates to always follow required office etiquettes after their training stressing that the federal government had put l necessary measure in place to ensure that the beneficiaries were self employed and were not neglected in the labour market.
At the training, the graduate interns were conducted on how to perform to optimum in their various fields of endeavours.
