The race for who replaces Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, as Governor of Lagos State gathers momentum with an opinion poll report released in Lagos on Tuesday, 30th December, 2014, giving the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akinwunmi Ambode, clear lead in the run up to the governorship election in the state in 2015.

Mega City Foundation, one of the leading polling agencies put Ambode in clear lead.

In the poll result released by Mega City Foundation, the APC and its candidate were projected to be leading by as much as 82 percent in terms of voters’ support.

Agbaje was credited with 14 percent of the votes according to the polling report made available to the press.

According to the study, Akinwunmi Ambode, is the candidate of choice by Lagos voters with a 82 percent lead over other candidates.

This is a clear indication that the choice of Lagos voters in the next governorship race is Akinwunmi Ambode. Agbaje of the PDP comes a far distant second, polling 14 percent representing a two percent decline from the earlier survey.

“Akinwunmi Ambode remains (the) main voting choice. Voting choice for Agbaje declined by two percent and seem not to pose a threat to Ambode’s chances of winning election as he remains firmly ahead of the race,” Mega City Foundation said in its report.
