Exclusive! Jumoke Akinjide, Teslim Folarin At War As Minister Campaigns For Accord Party Candidate, Rasheed Ladoja

The ambition of ex-Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin to become the next Governor of Oyo State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not be realised after all.

Thegazellenews.com learnt exclusively that apart from rival parties: the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Accord Party (AP), opposition within Folarin’s party, PDP is also working against his ambition.

“There are several people within the PDP who are not happy at his emergence hence they have vowed to work against his ambition,” sources told this medium in Ibadan last week.

Thegazellenews.com learnt exclusively that at the head of the opposition within the PDP is the curent Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ms Jumoke Akinjide.

Thegazellenews.com learnt that while Akinjide is campaigning seriously for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan, she is allegedly also busy campaigning for the election of the Accord Party (AP), Senator Rasheed Ladoja, to emerge as the next governor of the state.

“Akinjide’s slogan has been vote for Jonathan as president and vote for Ladoja as governor,” the sources added.

This medium gathered further that both Folarin and Akinjide have been avoiding each other during campaigns.

“If Jumoke goes west, Teslim goes east and that is how they have been avoiding each other since the campaign began,” our sources added.

At a public forum which took place on Thursday, 26th February, 2015 to drum support for Jonathan, Jumoke and her father from start to finish.

Folarin came in late and left before any of the digninatories on the high table.

Even, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala waited till the end of the programme.

Thegazellenews.com learnt that the animosity between the two bothers on the leadership of the party and party position and appointments.

“The two of them are not only from the same senatorial district, Oyo South Senatorial District, they are also from the same local government, Ona Ara Local Government,” sources explained.

According to our sources, Jumoke is protecting her position as the leader of the party in the state.

“If Folarin wins, Jumoke not only lose the leadership of the party in the state but also lose her position as minister because you cannot have both the minister and the governor coming from the same local government, that will amount to cheating and marginalisation of other local governments,” our sources concluded.
