Poll: Osun Declares Friday Public Holiday

The Osun State Government has declared Friday, 27th March 2015 as public holiday to allow residents of the state travel to their various towns and communities in order to exercise their civic duty of voting during Presidential and National Assembly Elections slated for Saturday, 28th March, 2015.

This was contained in a statement issued by the former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Sunday Akere and made available to newsmen in Osogbo.

The state government therefore appealed to the residents of the state to be peaceful and conduct themselves in a manner that portrays them as responsible people.

The statement charged all major stakeholders involved in the elections and all security agencies to allow the overall interest of the nation to guide their conduct.

It further appealed to them to ensure that things are done according to the laws of the land.

The statement concluded by praying that the best candidate that would satisfy the yearning and aspirations of Nigerians emerge victorious on Saturday, 28th March, 2015.
