A fight betwee siblings of the same parent has led to the death of the male sibling.
The two: a girl who is the older of the two siblings reportedly stabbed her younger brother, Laju to death for bringing her down in a fight.
The incident took place in Ugbuwangue, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, on Tuesday, 12th May, 2015.
It was learnt that the two were fighting over house chores.
Laju, only male in the family had insisted that he would not do any other house chores after fetching water insisting that he was too tired to do other chores.
It led to a fight and Laju, male and stronger, brought down his sister and ran away.
This incurred the anger of Omasan who ran into the house and brought out a kitchen knife, ran after her brother and stabbed him in the chest.
Laju fell down and started shouting for help.
He was taken to Warri Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead with the doctors saying that he had lost a lot of blood.
Omasan was arrested while she was trying to run away and handed over to the police.
Sources said the incident was the climax of the frequent fights between the two, though they have always been settling the earlier ones between them amicably.
Laju had been buried in front of his father’s compound in the Itsekiri community in Warri.
Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State, Celestina Kalu, confirmed the teenager’s death, adding that investigation into the case had commenced.
