Former Senate president, David Mark, yesterday closed his case at the election petition tribunal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State.
Counsel to Mark, Kenneth Ikonne, presented three documents of a photocopy of certified press statement of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), photocopies of Sunday Mirror and This Day newspapers before the tribunal.
Mark, who was present at the court, did not mount the witness box to give his evidence.
According to Ikonne, all the documents were included in the first respondent’s amended reply, maintaining that they are relevant to the case and therefore urged the tribunal to admit them.
Tribunal chairman, Justice Dupe Mosunmola, admitted all the documents without dispute from all the counsels involved in the matter, including Mr Adetunji Osho who is the counsel to the petitioner.
Meanwhile, the second and third respondents are set to open and close their cases from this week.
The tribunal adjourned to today.
