Corruption Is Nigeria’s Major Problem – Ajayi

By Mobolaji Odunuga

Α former member of All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign team, Mr. Temitope Ajayi has identified corruption as the major problem of Nigeria and urge all and sundry to join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in his mission to make the country corruption free.

Speaking with our correspondent, Ajayi said the money being taken out of Nigeria economy through corrupt means is too humongous and noted that if we are able to eradicate corruption every other thing will fall in place.

“If all President Buhari will do in four years as the President of this country is to clean the system and enthrone the culture of probity, accountability and honesty in governance and public service he would have set Nigeria on a path of progress and sustainable development” he said.

On the recent appointments made by the President, he noted that it is unfair for anybody to conclude at this early stage that President Muhammadu Buhari is marginalizing any section of the nation in appointments being made by him.

Ajayi who is also a member of Buhari Support Group said majority of the appointments made by the President so far are more or less his personal staffs who he has the prerogative of appointing while some are essentially public service appointments where the next person takes over authomatically and does not fall strictly under what is now being termed federal character.

He said as at the last count the President has about 5,000 appointments to make and urge Nigerians to co-operate with the government.
