Lagos Assembly Commission Assures On Improved Legislature For Lagosians

The Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission{LAHASCOM} will put in place a strategic plan to re-invent its service delivery capacity towards a robust and people oriented legislature in the state.

This disclosure was made by the Chairman of the legislative institution, Chief Wale Mogaji during the 3rd annual retreat for members and senior staff of the commission, with the theme : The Role of a Virile Assembly Service Commission in the Legislative Arm of Government.

While delivering his speech, the Chairman said the commission has been able to make tremendous achievements on issues relating to appointments, transfer, deployment and promotion of its staff within the short period of its establishment.

He stated further that the objective of the retreat was to “further re-appraise our activities in the last one year with a view to consolidating on our areas of strength and also improve on our efforts to taking the commission to a greater height”.

The Acting Secretary, National Assembly Service Commission, Mr Olusanya Ajakaye while speaking at the retreat said it was paramount for any virile Assembly Service Commission to enforce discipline in the legislative service, advising that the commission should be fair and just to all and sundry in disciplinary matters.

Also present at the event was the coordinator of the programme, Mr Taiwo Abayomi, who informed the gathering that the major function of the commission is to enhance human resources, urging the commission members and management staff to ensure that good leadership is guaranteed at all times in order to bring about enhanced performance.

The Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Olusegun Ganiu Abiru implored the staff to be of good attitude and also be diligent in their work by giving in their best performance.
