Barely three days after a female passenger billed to fly an Etihad Airline died at the Murtala Mohammed Airport toilet in Lagos, a pregnant female passenger yesterday died aboard Arik Air flight from Port-Harcourt to Lagos.
LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that the 39-year-old female passenger was on her way to Lagos on referral to the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital when she developed complications during the flight and died.
It was learnt that she was attended to by on-board medical personnel who were passengers, but she died on board.
A statement by Arik Air’s spokesman, Mr Adebanji Ola confirmed the death of the passenger.
“A female passenger on board Arik Air’s Port Harcourt-Lagos flight was confirmed dead on arrival this morning by medical personnel at the Murtala Mohammed Airport domestic terminal 1, Ikeja, Lagos. The lady boarded the flight from Port-Harcourt in company of her husband and cousin. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained,” the Arik spokesman said.
The body of the dead passenger has been deposited at an undisclosed morgue in Lagos.
It would be recalled that another Arik male passenger died aboard the airline’s aircraft in Lagos late last year.
