CD Feirense’s Dele Alampasu has been ruled out of Nigeria U23’s friendly with Brazil on March 24 through ill health.
The Nigeria Football Federation announced on Wednesday that the goalkeeper has been ruled out of the Olympics warm-up game in Rio, with acute appendicitis.
According to club’s doctor, Alexandre Brandao, the former Golden Eaglets star suffered an acute appendicitis on March 8 and had to be operated upon immediately.
Alampasu could now spend three weeks on the sidelines as he tries to recover his fitness and his place in the Nigeria U23’s squad for Olympics 2016.
With this development, the Dream Team VI will now head to Brazil with only two goalkeepers – Emmanuel Daniel and Yusuf Mohammed.
