The All Progressives Congress, APC, has described as “complete sham” the outcomes of the local council poll held in Adamawa State on Saturday.
Shagnah Pwamaddi, the state’s APC legal adviser vowed the results would challenged in court.
Pwamaddi described the poll as a “selection” helped by “intimidation and inducement”.
His position was reinforced by Babachir Lawan, a former Secretary to the Government of Federation and chieftain of the APC.
Lawal said: “In spite of assurance by the Adamawa state governor that there will be an open, free and fair LGA elections, there was no election in Hong LGA even in a single polling unit.
“No election materials and no election officials were sighted any where in the LGA up to 4 pm on Saturday when I returned to Yola.
“It’s such a shameful treatment of our people of which we have taken note.
However, the state electoral body has given itself a pass mark over the exercise.
Isa Shettima, Chairman of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), said the election was satisfactory despite low voter turnout.
