Iba Traditional Ruler Dies At 76

The Oniba of Iba Land, His Royal Majesty Yishawu Goriola Oseni, has joined his ancestors, reports The Gazelle News.com.
The death of Oba Oseni was announced on Saturday, 23 May, 2020 by the Iba Council of Chiefs.
A first class monarch in the state, Oba Oseni was also a prominent member of the Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs. He was aged 76.
The Gazelle News.com reports further that the late monarch was the Chairman of the Chieftaincy Committee of Ojo Local Government.
A retired police officer, Oba Oseni ascended the throne on 22 November, 1975 at the of 32. He was on the throne of his forefathers for 44 years.
He was in the news few years ago when he was kidnapped by some hoodlums in his palace at Iba. He was released about 10 days later after the family paid huge ransom to the kidnappers. The kidnappers were later arrested, prosecuted and jailed.
Oba Oseni was the father of Hon Raimota Rachel Adedayo Oseni, current Chairman of Iba Local Council Development Area and one time member of the state House of Assembly.
