The death toll from coronavirus infection in Nigeria has surpassed the century mark as 195 new cases of the virus infection are reported nationwide on Wednesday, 6 May, 2020, The Gazelle News.com reports.
The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on its official Twitter handle on Wednesday that a total of 103 people have died from the virus infection nationwide.
The Gazelle News.com reports further that the total number of infected people in Nigeria has risen to 3145.
Lagos, the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, has now surpassed the 1000 mark as the number of infected people in the state is now 1308.
Of the new cases reported, 82 are from Lagos, 30 from Kano, 19 from Zamfara, 18 from Sokoto, 10 from Borno, 9 from FCT, 8 from Oyo, 5 each from Kebbi and Gombe, 4 from Ogun, 3 from Katsina, and one each from Adamawa and Kaduna.
