Nigeria recorded a record 31 deaths in a single day from Covid-19 infection on Tuesday, 16 June, 2020, reports The Gazelle News.com.
The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported this on its Twitter handle while giving update on the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The Gazelle News.com reports further that of the 31 deaths reported nationwide on Tuesday, 25 are from Lagos which was also a record for a single day in the state.
Apart from Lagos, two deaths each are recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Rivers as well as one each from Oyo and Borno States.
The total number of deaths from Covid-19 infection in Nigeria is now 455.
The NCDC also reported 490 new cases of coronavirus across the country on Tuesday.
The total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria has risen to 17,148.
