The embattled suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, seems to be courting more troubles as another investigative panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari raised allegation of billions of Naira unaccounted for in the sales of assets forfeited by suspects convicted by the law courts, The Gazelle News.com can exclusively report.
This medium confirmed exclusively that President Buhari set up a Presidential Assets Recovery Panel to investigate and report on the sales of various recovered assets from suspects convicted by courts and some recovered through plea bargaining.
The panel, The Gazelle News.com reports, is headed by the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Muhammed Nami.
According to source from the report of the panel, the embattled Magu has case to answer because a whopping N37 billion was unaccounted for.
It was discovered that some big houses and cars have been sold running into N37 billion and the proceeds were never remitted into any accounts of the government.
The issue of the missing N37 billion was part of allegations which Magu is expected to defend before the panel trying him.
