In a bid to ensure access to safe water, Hon. Olajide Jimoh, member representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has facilitated a motorized borehole project at Otumara, Ilaje, Apapa Road in his constituency.
The drilling and installation of the borehole with 10,000 litres capacity overhead tank has commenced at the site.
While speaking recently during empowerment programme for women and the youths, Jimoh, Chairman House Committee on Regional Planning and Urban Development said he would ensure the dividend of democracy is delivered to the doorsteps of the people.
Ilaje-Otumara community is under Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency and hitherto were faced with water challenges.
The residents, while citing the installation of the project busted to jubilation, expressing gratitude to the lawmaker for giving them access to potable water as the challenges have come to end.
Recall, the over fifty boreholes has been facilitated by the lawmaker to the constituency.
The water projects are in line with the SDGs Goal 6: “ensure Access to water and Sanitation for all.”
