Niger State Government has sealed partnership with MANZUWA Ventures Limited to construct a 40km bypass from Pago to the permanent site of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Gidan Kwano, Minna and a City Layout at the cost of N10 billion.
To this end, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane signed on behalf of the state government while the Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Adam Ibn Adam signed for the private firm.
Under the MoU agreement, Manzuwa Ventures will solely finance the N10 billion project which will integrate the community members as discussions to that effect are ongoing with Minna Emirate Council.
The bypass, to be named after Governor Abubakar Sani Bello is expected to commence in October.
When completed, the road will not only serve as an alternative route to exit Minna going towards Abuja, it will also reduce the pressure on the Minna-Suleja road.
Others present at the event were: the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr Abubakar Sadiq Balarabe; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Housing, Dr Abdull Husaini; the Permanent Secretary, Economic Affairs Ministry, Alh. Yahya Baba Wachiko; the Director, Civil Engineering, Ministry of Works, Engr Ahmed Tanko; as well as Directors of Manzuwa Ventures, Alh Sagir Nagogo and Farouk Sani Yakasai.
