Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, says the time to respond to the various allegations levelled against him by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has not come.
Mimiko disclosed this when the state deputy governor, Mr Agboola Ajayi, visited him at his home in Ondo.
Ajayi had gone to see Mimiko seeking his blessing and support in his ambition to contest for the upcoming gubernatorial election.
It will be recalled that Governor Akeredolu had lamented the array of abandoned projects by Mimiko’s administration in the state, describing the administration as a disgrace to governance and disservice to the people.
However, the Governor disclosed that he would not report Mimiko who is his friend of over 40 years to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) irrespective of the alleged maladministration.
But Mimiko stated that the time to compare his government with Akeredolu has not come because the time for reply would be when the electioneering campaign begins.
He also added that any party or government that would not deliver the need of the masses at the point of their yearnings was not a progressive one, saying that ZLP was the only party that loves helping the poor to achieve their dreams.
Mimiko also praised Ajayi, saying he has “all his good and bad sides, we know, we do not expect surprises”.
Earlier, the deputy governor had said that no progressive politician would be comfortable with the way the state is currently being governed.
