The Yoruba movie industry on Friday, 31 July, 2020 lost another industrious member of the industry, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Veteran actress, Alhaja Musiliat Arikeusola died on Eid-l-Kabir day in her Osogbo residence after after battling with an unknown illness for several years.
She was aged 67 and has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
The late Alhaja Arikeusola was popular in the industry in late 80s and the 90s. She became famous for her role in the epic Yoruba movie titled, Koto Orun, produced by the late Yekinni Ajileye.
Her role as Osuntohun in the movie made her became popular in the industry and the name became her most known stage name.
Ademola Adedokun, Secretary of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria in Osun State, confirmed the news of the veteran actress’ death to journalists.
The late actress also played lots of roles in other Ajileye productions of the ’90s, but it was her role as Osuntohun in Koto Orun that made her popular in the industry.
She did not only appear in Koto Orun, she also acted in movies like Koto Aye, Aye Akamora, all produced by late Ajileye. She also produced movies like: Omi Ipin, Imi Esin and Ogun Omo Iya le which was her last production
