Former Super Eagles defender, Ajibade Babalade, is dead, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Babalade, popularly called Kunde by his admirers, died in Ibadan on Friday, 4 September, 2020.
His death was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on its Twitter account.
The Gazelle News.com learnt that the former captain of Shooting Stars Sports Club. He was their captain during their glory days in the 90s leading them to the final of the African Champions Cup in 1996 where they lost on penalty shoot out to Zamalek.
Kunde was also a member of the Super Eagles team to the African Cup of Nations in Senegal in 1992 where the team won bronze beating Cameroon in the Losers’ final.
Kunde made his name as a great defender in the colours of Stationery Stores Football Club of Lagos before joining Shooting Stars in early 90s.
