The incumbent Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has won in nine out of the 12 local government areas which results have been declared officially by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the governorship election in Ondo State, reports The Gazelle News.com.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, remains the closest rival winning in three local government areas: Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore Local Government Areas.
Akeredolu won in Akoko North East, Ile Oluji, Akoko North West, Owo, Idanre, Irele, Akoko South West, Akoko South East, and Ondo East Local Government Areas.
The current Deputy Governor and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Agboola Ajayi is in distant third position.
