The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has clarified its postion on the purported opening of a campaign a presidential campaign headquarters for the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.
According to a press statement by the group, which was set up to drum up support for the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Tinubu, the building in question was not a campaign headquarters but “an initiave of people of likeminds who are lovers of Tinubu and are willing to work for the realisation of his political ambition”.
Two online media: Peoples Gazette and Sahara Reporters reported on Monday, 5 October, 2020 that the former Lagos State Governor has opened a campaign headquarters in Abuja.
The group described the story “a very serious distraction to the nation”, noting that the main subject of the story has not even indicated his intention to run for the Presidency.
According to the group, TSG is a group of likeminds and lovers of Tinubu, a man who has done so much for Nigeria and its democracy.
“This is purely an initiative of likeminds and lovers of Tinubu who have come together under the umbrella of Tinubu Support Group (TSG) to promote a man that has done so much for Nigerians and its democracy.
“It’s not only James Faleke but many Tinubu’s men, women and youths accross the nation are part of this project and by the grace of God when the time is ripe for party nominations we will join hand in prayers for his emergence as the presidential candidate of our party.
“Finally, we call upon all Nigerians to continue to support President Mohammadu Buhari on the reform agenda that will eventually lead us to achieving Nigeria of our dream,” the statement said.
