The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has apologised to the Ekiti State Government over the delayed in the release of the WAEC results of students in the state, reports The Gazelle News.com.
According to the Council in a letter sent to the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology through the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, students in the state found it difficult to access their results on Wednesday, 4 November, 2020 due to heavy congestion on the site of the Council.
In letter dated, Thursday, 5 November, 2020, and signed by Alhaji Olajide A Hakeem, Branch Controller of the council in Ekiti, students from Ekiti were not the only one affected by the congestion as students from other states in Nigeria were also not able to access their results on time.
“By 5.45 pm, the issue was resolved and students had easy access to their results,” the letter said.
The examination body stated that Ekiti State is not indebted to it, rather it is one of its most reliable clients, saying it cherish the relationship it has with the state government.
WAEC berated attempts by some individuals and groups to seize on the matter to start campaign of calumny against the Ekiti State Government.
