Tinubu Non-negotiable, a campaign group for the actualization of the 2023 presidential aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has endorsed Agege Local Government’s chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon.Nurudeen Bukola Sofidiya popularly called GIDADO.
The event which took place at the campaign office of the chairmanship aspirant was well attended by members of TNN across all the seven political wards of Agege Local Government.
Speaking at the event, the Agege LG coordinator of TNN, Hon. Ogunbona described Gidado as an ideal person with the love of Agege at heart who possesses the qualities to be the next Chairman of the local government.
Responding, Hon. Sofidiya expressed appreciation to members of TNN, particularly in Agege and the state at large for their belief and trust in him.
He seized the opportunity to state his programmes for the development and growth of the local government anchored on three main pillars: security, education and empowerment.
He pointed out that Agege is having serious security challenges which can be tackled by getting closer to the youth and engaging them in activities that will add value to their lives stating that an idle hand is always the devil’s workshop. “When the Youths are engaged in activities that add values to their lives, they become serious and contribute meaningfully to growth and development of the society,” he said.
On the issue of education, Sofidiya said pupils in public primary schools in Agege will be trained in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
“We will provide each pupil with a laptop and engage private teachers to train the pupils on use of computer and ICT. These private teachers will also train final year students of secondary schools in the local government, select the most brilliant among them for free GCE and JAMB forms,” he assured.
Sofidiya stated further that students without the mental capacity to go further in their education will be trained in any vocation of their choice.
On the empowerment of the people of Agege, Sofidiya stated traders and artisans will be the main beneficiaries of the empowerment programmes which will be thoroughly monitored to ensure it gets to the appropriate people.
