The Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on Monday, 5 April, 2021 led a high-power delegation to Zamfara State to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the recent fire outbreak that engulfed parts of Tudun Wada Gusau Market.
The APC Governors’ Forum Chairman was accompanied by the Governor of Yobe State and the Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai-Mala Buni and Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State.
Leader of the delegation Governor Atiku Bagudu said the delegation from the Progressive Governors’ Forum was in the state to commiserate with the government and people of the state which was planned earlier than now.
The Governor said the sad incident that happened at Tudun Wada Gusau Market affected the livelihood of the victims and business activities in the state which they found necessary to show their concern and sympathy to the victims.
He said the team was in Katsina state where similar sad incident happened and prayed Allah SWT to recompence the victims with more wealth.
He commended and acknowledged the efforts of Governor Matawalle in ensuring the return of peace in the state and offered support and solidarity through a donation of N50 million to the victims calling on the general public to be more careful in order to prevent a recurrence.
Responding, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen commended the three governors for travelling by road to express their brotherliness and love showing the commitment to express that across party lines.
He particularly appreciated the gesture which he noted his colleagues from the People’s Democratic Party have not done assuring that it will be reciprocated.
“This is a strategy from and by the APC and Zamfara as a no man’s land will continue to welcome you and we will not care what negative other people will say but we expect you to also extend our appreciation to our President Muhammadu Buhari,” the Governor said.
