One Suliyat Ganiyu, aged 40, was on Friday, 31 March, 2023 arraigned in Ibadan, Oyo State capital for allegedly stealing a handbag.

Ganiyu, whose address was not provided, is charged with theft before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court presided over Mrs T. B. Oyekanmi.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Sikiru Ibrahim, told the court that the defendant committed the theft on Feb. 16 at 2:00pm at the Itamaya area of Ibadan.
Ibrahim alleged that Ganiyu stole the bag from one Mrs Omolade Adekola, adding that the bag contained automated teller machine cards, keys, N70, 000 and other valuables.
According to Ibrahim, the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Oyekanmi, who granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties in like sum, adjourned the case until April 26 for a substantive hearing.
