The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the election of Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule as the duly elected Senator to represent Lagos West Senatorial District in the Upper Legislative Chamber of the National Assembly, reports thegazellenews.com.
Delivering the judgment on Friday, 8 September, 2023, the judges upheld the ruling of the National Assembly Tribunal in Lagos which affirmed the election of Senator Adebule.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Segun Adewale had filed a petition at the Tribunal seeking to nullify the election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.
The Tribunal however dismissed the petition ruling that PDP and its candidate abandoned the case.
Adewale and PDP not satisfied appealed against the ruling.
The Appeal Court on Friday, 8 September, 2023, thus dismissed thier appeal, upheld the ruling of the Tribunal and affirmed the election of Dr Adebule.
