Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, has inspected the Industrial Leather Hub, currently under construction at Matori Industrial Area, in the Mushin area of the metropolis.

Ajigbotafe, accompanied by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Abiodun Onayele, expressed his delight at the project. The Commissioner, since his appointment, has indicated his readiness to ensure the ministry continues to fulfil its mandate to society.

Equally, speaking during a previous visit to the hub, the state’s Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stated the advantage of the project.

“The Economic value of this is that we can start and end the entire production process here in Lagos. Jobs will be generated and business will be developed.

“The hub will be a primary manufacturing source for retailers in the ecosystem,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.

The Industrial Leather Hub is expected to enhance the leather manufacturing value chain, including retailers of finished leather products.

Other benefits are enhancing job creation in the Small, And Medium Scale Enterprise space, encourage division of labour, specialisation, and economy of scale in the production process.
