The Lagos State Body of Seriki Hausawas, an umbrella body of northern traditional chiefs spread across the five administrative divisions of Lagos State, has declared full support and readiness to play a bigger role in the audacious drive to actualize the full context of the T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda toward birthing a smarter Lagos city.

The declaration was made by the royal symbols, on Wednesday, 27 November, 2024, during an official visit to the Lagos House, Alausa, where the body met with Chief Tayo Akinmade Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu.

Delivering a clear-cut message of continued support to the government, the Lagos State Body of Seriki Hausawas, delivered a document containing their pro-state resolutions as well as grey areas they needed the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led government to harmonize to entrench true inclusivity.

One of the areas pointed out by the royal visitors was the non-inclusion of the Arewa Community in the current Lagos State equation, which they said, has continued to stir disenchantment within the ranks of the Lagos State Arewa Community.

They noted that their support to the government as proven by past and present records, has never wavered, thus, the total blackout has remained a cause for unending concern.

Responding, the Lagos State Chief of Staff thanked the visiting traditional chiefs for having been progressive partners of the government for decades, maintaining that the support and contributions of the Lagos State Arewa Community was never misjudged or taken for granted.

He added that the future ahead promises a greater bargain for all residents of the state, without doubt.

Chief Tayo Ayinde assured the visitors of increased inclusion and government patronage for the greater good of the state, noting that, Lagos State being the reference point for progress and development, will continue to entrench policies and initiatives that demonstrate true inclusivity and prosperity of the greatest number of its residents.

The coordinator of the interface, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, Sarki Overall of Alimosho, joined by elder statesman, HRH Alhaji Hassan Abubakar Auyo, Sarki of Idi Araba and HRH Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Jubirila Olaniyi, Sarki of Orile Agege, signed and presented the document containing the pledge and yearning of the royal symbols to Lagos State Chief of Staff, Chief Tayo Akinmade Ayinde.
