The crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly took a new twist on Monday, 17 February, 2025, when officers of the Department of the State Security (DSS) took over the Assembly complex, reports thegazellenews.com
Members of staff and lawmakers got to Assembly on Monday morning and found out that DSS officers have virtually taken over the Assembly complex.

No reason was given for this new turn of event but thegazellenews.com can also confirm that the legislative chamber has been put under lock and key thereby preventing lawmakers from sitting for plenary.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Rt Honourable Mojisola Lasbat Meranda had adjourned plenary session to Monday, 17 February, 2025, during its last sitting on Thursday, 13 February, 2025.
Incidentally, the former Speaker, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa had already gone to court to challenge his removal.
