The Kwara State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe and Hajia Mariam Nnafatimah Imam as commissioners following their nomination by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON.
Speaking with Just Event Online TV after his confirmation, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe described the moment as both exciting and challenging, acknowledging the high expectations that come with the role.

He emphasized the need to align his strategies with Governor AbdulRazaq’s vision, stating:
“No matter how elated I am, it’s a challenging moment because expectations are high. I must ensure that I succeed in whatever ministry I am assigned to and that my strategies align with Mallam AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman’s vision”.

On her part, Hajia Mariam Nnafatimah Imam expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing it as an unexpected but historic moment in her life. She pledged to uphold transparency, integrity, and loyalty in her service.
“This is a decision I didn’t expect, but Alhamdulillah, it is possible with the blessing of Mallam AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman. I will ensure that any ministry assigned to me is run with transparency, integrity, and loyalty,” she assured.
Speaking on behalf of the Olohungbebe family, Shehu Mansur Abolaji Olohungbebe expressed pride in Dr. Lawal’s achievement, affirming his commitment to upholding the family’s core values of empathy, kindness, and fairness.
“The whole family is excited, and I want the world to know that Lawal will uphold our core values. We appreciate everyone who came from far and near to witness the screening and assure them that our son will deliver on the mandate given to him,” he said.
