Operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested 20-year-old groom, Auwal Abdulwahab and his three friends for allegedly killing his bride through gang-rape, reports thegazellenews.com.
The Jigawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Lawan Shiisu Adam, who made this disclosure through a statement made available to newsmen, said the incident happened on Saturday, 26 April, 2025 at about 2200hrs in Tungo village, Albasu District in Sule Tankarkar Local Government.

According to Shiisu, the newly married man is suspected of orchestrating the incident against his wife within days of their wedding.
“The groom is alleged to have conspired with his three friends namely: Nura Basiru, Muttaka Lawan and Hamisu Musa, to come to his matrimonial home with the intention of the four of them having sex with her. Though the wife protested, the four of them had their way and the wife died in the proces, ” the state police image -maker
He added that preliminary investigation revealed that the bride had reportedly disagreed with her husband on marital relations until their wedding.
Shiisu said upon receipt of the report, team of policemen rushed to the scene and the body was evacuated to Gumel General Hospital for medical examination and the doctor on call confirmed her death.
He said the corpse was released to her parents for burial, while the four suspects involved have been apprehended and taken into custody for discreet investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP AT Abdullahi, has directed that the case be immediately transferred to the State CID Dutse for a discreet investigation.
“After the investigation is completed, all suspects will be prosecuted accordingly.
“The suspects will face two charges under relevant laws of the jurisdiction, including criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide,” he said.
