The Chairman of Odiolowo /Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Honorable Rasak Ajala, has promised that primary school pupils and secondary students in the LCDA will be provided with tablets to enable them compete with their counterparts in other parts of the world, reports thegazellenews.com
Ajala made the promise on Tuesday, 27 May, 2025 while addressing pupils and students at the council secretariat to mark this year Children’s Day celebrations.

The theme of this year’s celebrations is “Little Foot Steps; Big Future with the sub-theme” Nurturing Dreams, Building Tomorrow’s Leaders.

Ajala used the occasion to let pupils and students know what his administration is presently doing, has done and will do to help them developed educationally and enable them to compete with their counterparts in other parts of the world.

According to him, the provisions of the tablets to the pupils and students have been included the council’s budget for 2025, saying that this is necessary to enable the children to be ICT compliant in the present day world of digital technology.
“We are going to make these tablets available to them so that they can compete with their counterparts in the private schools and their counterparts in other parts of the world. This is what we are going to do to enhance the development of education the council area.
“What is obtainable now is modern day tools for the enhancement of knowledge for students and pupils and we are going to package it very well for them to achieve success in life and to uplift education in the council area,” he said.
The council boss also announced that 3D educational devices will be provided for schools so that students can make use of it to enhance their educational developments.
Ajala said that as part of measures to enhance ICT compliance for youths in the council area, Adeleye and Ilupeju ICT centres have been equipped with modern educational tools for them to use, saying that the centres are open for use all days of the year.

The council boss, who disclosed that 90 per cent of the beneficiaries of the centres are youths, added that to, “have a developed nation, we must build our youths educationally and that is exactly what we are doing at the two centres, baking and nurturing future leaders of tomorrow“.
Ajala also used the occasion to appeal to the pupils and students to shun cultism and the culture of bullying, saying the consequences of engaging in these are grave, which could end in prison or even death.
“Don’t engage in cultism or bully others. Bullying and cultism are not good for you. Good students don’t practice these acts. Shun it totally for your own good and for the good of the society as a whole. Bullying culture should also be discouraged. Don’t bully your colleagues, it is not good for you to do this.
“You were sent to school to be good ambassadors of your parents and the society. Don’t join cult group, the consequences are negative, you may end up spending your productive years in prison,” the council boss said.
Ajala also counselled the students to cultivate reading habit, be obedient to their parents, guardians and teachers, saying imbibing these culture will make them to be great in life and become better persons in future.
The council boss called on the them to spread the gospel of All Progressive Congress (APC) to their parents and guardians when they get home for them to continue to enjoy free education, free transportation, and educational enhancement among other incentives put in place by the council.
“It is only in the APC that your future will be guaranteed, a better rewarding future is guaranteed under APC. So I enjoin you to spread the good gospel of APC to your parents and guardians telling them to vote for APC candidate in the person of Seyi Jakande in the July 12, 2025 local government poll. Voting for APC and Jakande will make it possible for you to continue to enjoy what are doing for you,” the Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA Boss said.
He also thanked the teachers for nurturing the the students and preparing them to be great leaders of tomorrow
Ajala said his vision for the LCDA is to make it the best administered local council, not only in Lagos but in Nigeria as a whole, saying that these necessitated various programmes and initiatives he has put in place to enhance social and economic development of the residents of the council.
The council boss said that the success he has achieved during his tenure have been based on “justice, fairness, equity and the philosophy of common pool for the benefits of all,” adding that as a captain of the ship of the council he has uphold this philosophy and this enable him to be able to perform and bring about the dividends of democracy which the ruling party under President Bola Ahmed has continue to give Nigerians.
He also thanked the staffs of the council, traditional rulers, market women and men residents, APC party leaders and members for their supports so far, saying that without them, he would not have been able to achieve success in the council.
