The man in this picture is in critical condition in a hospital in Akure, Ondo State.

He is the Vice Principal of a secondary school.

He became a patient in the hospital following severe beatings he received from four men hired by the mother of one of his students.

He is Mr. Rotifa, Vice Principal of Complete Child Development Centre Aule, Akure.

His road to the hospital began on Monday, 26 May, 2025, when he seized an Android phone found with an SS3 student during one of the papers in the ongoing Senior Secondary School Examination,SSCE.
He did it to preserve the integrity of the school and examination.

The following day the mother of the student and some four men came to the school to demand the release of the phone and to warn the Vice Principal not to prevent the boy from using the phone during the Examination.

Mr Rotifa said that would not be possible and the company of five set upon him and inflicted injuries on the hapless man after beating him blue and black.

Following the furore generated by the incident the Ondo State Police Command stepped in and arrested the woman and the four accomplices. The State Government has also condemned the act.
