Amid the ongoing crisis within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President Namadi Sambo has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
Sambo, who served as Vice President under President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015, was formally received into the APC on Wednesday, 18 June, 2025 by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna.
Sambo’s defection comes amid a wave of high-profile exits from the PDP, which has seen several senators, members of the National Assembly, and state leaders switch allegiance to the ruling APC in recent months.
The trend has been linked to internal wrangling within the PDP and unresolved leadership disputes.
