The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Senior Comrade Lasisi Akinsanya, has urged residents of the council to participate fully in the coming Continuous Voter’s Registration (CVR) exercise put together by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reports thegazellenews.com
Senior Comrade Akinsanya made this appeal via a statement from the council’s Public Affairs Unit.

According to him, the exercise is a very important one because it is one of the steps taken by residents to participate actively in governance.
“If you don’t register to vote, it means you can neither vote nor be voted thereby forfeiting your chance of participating in governance,” he said.

According to him, voting is the power vested in the citizens to control governance. “With your vote, you can either remove a bad government or instal a good one, so it is very important for you to participate in this exercise,” he said.
Senior Comrade Akinsanya explained that the exercise is for residents who have attained voting age of 18, those who have lost their PVCs or their PVCs have been mutilated and those who want to transfer their voting to their areas of residence.
